Description South Central Public Health District is looking for a clinical assistant for our Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) program.
The position is in our Twin Falls office.
Successful applicant will perform paraprofessional clinical duties; establish and maintain client records; gather client data; provide health and community program resource information to clients; perform related work.

Gathers client data.
Provides health and community program resource information to clients.
Interviews clients to obtain/document detailed personal data (health/dietary info).
Explains services and programs.
Determines client eligibility.
Evaluates to establish need and to adapt services to clients.
Obtains, processes, and evaluates height, weight and hemoglobin.
Describes program requirements, client rights and obligations.
Presents health and nutrition information to groups and individuals using professionally prepared materials.
Distributes program outreach materials.
Contacts clients about program services.
Compiles data for program reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Some knowledge of health and nutritional needs of adults and children.
Experience interviewing and eliciting personal information.
Experience adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Experience recording information accurately and legibly.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED certificate.
Fluent in English & Spanish.
This position requires sufficient speech and hearing acuity to perform customer service work.
Work environment may be noisy and crowded, with exposure to communicable diseases and to hostile or aggressive clients.
Most positions involve lifting and carrying children and objects such as audiovisual equipment, boxes, or educational materials weighing 40 pounds.
Public health employees must be willing to participate in public health preparedness activities and training and may be asked to perform activities within their skill levels that are not part of their normal jobs.
During emergency situations, employees may be asked to work hours outside of the normal work day to assist with emergency response activities.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
